The King's Fund have launched a new online course which gives an overview of the NHS, its constituent parts and the challenges the service faces in the twenty first century. The course will run from 15 October and will last for four weeks, the suggested study time is two hours a week. The course is free to complete with accreditation available for a fee. Chief Executive of QA Hospital to speak at Portsmouth Pensioners open meeting on winter pressures on NHS

Portsmouth Pensioners have arranged an open meeting at 1:30pm on Monday 1 October 2018 looking at the winter pressures on the NHS. Mark Cubbon, Chief Executive of Queen Alexandra Hospital, will be speaking about the winter pressures they face. The meeting will take place 1:30-3:30pm on Monday 1 October at the Council Chambers in the Guildhall, Portsmouth PO1 2AB and is open to everyone. Sir Robert Francis appointed as new Chair of Healthwatch England

Sir Robert Francis QC has been appointed as the new Chair fo Healthwatch England, he will take over on 1 October 2018. Sir Robert is a Barrister specialising in NHS and clinical negligence cases. He is known for  his work overseeing the enquiries into the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust, the Alder Hey Childrens Hospital and the Bristol Royal Infirmary. Fratton Family Festival this Sunday

This Sunday, 16 September 2018, it is the Fratton Family Festival. From 10am to 4:30pm Fratton Road between Garnier Street and Lucknow Street will be closed, traffic replaced with music, dancing and family friendly entertainment. We will have a stall handing out information and taling to people about their health and care in  Portsmouth.
