Free training courses to enable you to support people to improve their health.

Portsmouth Council’s Wellbeing Service is running free training courses to enable you to support people to improve their health.

The three different courses cover smoking, alcohol and healthy weight. There is also Making Every Contact Count (MECC) training, which gives you the skills and confidence to have conversations with people to help them improve their health.

These courses are ideal for anyone who works with the public, whether professionally or outside of work.

Courses are open to Portsmouth City Council staff, external organisations and the voluntary sector/volunteers. It’s free to all.

Level 1 – Very Brief Advice on Smoking
Tuesday 18 September (15 spaces)

Level 1 – Very Brief Advice on Healthy Weight
Thursday 20 September (15 spaces)
10:00am – 1:00pm

Level 1 – Very Brief Advice on Alcohol
Friday 28 September (15 spaces)
09.30 – 12.30 pm

MECC – Healthy Conversations
Part 1 – Monday 3 September
Part 2 – Monday 10 September
