Healthwatch Portsmouth to assess whether GP mergers work for patients

Over the next few weeks Healthwatch Portsmouth will be assessing the impact of GP surgery mergers on patients. In particular we will be seeing whether the benefits promised at the time of merger have been realised.

In the past three years the Craneswater, Eastney, East Shore, Osborne Road, Portsdown and Ramilies GP practices in Portsmouth have all undergone mergers.

We want to know what the merger has meant for you, the patients.

Has it  made getting an appointment easier and given more choice over where you see the Doctor or nurse? Or has it resulted in increased travel times and few of the promised benefits being seen?

Questionnaires will be available and our volunteers will be talking to patients in the different surgeries in August to find out what they think.

If you are a patient of one of the surgeries you can have your say by completing our online survey:

Alternatively call into the surgery to pick up a paper copy of the questionnaire.
