NHS England publishes updated guidance on bringing in changes to local health services

NHS England has published an updated version of its guidance on changes to local health services. The new guidance is designed to be used by those considering, and involved in, making substantial changes to local health services.

The guidance runs through the whole process from start to finish and supports the local NHS organisations that commission health services and the local hospitals, GPs and other NHS organisations that provide services to consider how to take forward their proposals.

The guidance explains how effective public involvement enables commissioners and providers to make changes in the best interests of their patients and local people so that the final outcome meets local needs.
