QA’s eye clinic up for a national accolade
Adam Booth, consultant ophthalmic surgeon, and the eye clinic team from the Cosham hospital, are in the running for the clinical service of the year title as part of the Macular Society’s Awards for Excellence.
The nomination recognises their exceptionally good practice in the care of people with macular degeneration.
Mr Booth said: ‘I’m thrilled we’ve been nominated for the award.
‘Our wet macular degeneration service makes a real difference to patients’ quality of life and it’s especially rewarding getting to know the patients so well over the course of their treatment.
‘I’m proud to be supported by an enthusiastic and dedicated team of doctors, nurses, ophthalmic photographers and administrative staff.
‘Receiving such wonderful comments from patients gives us a huge boost to morale, and drives us on to continue improving the service.’
The awards night takes place on September 28.
