More than 10,000 pharmacies have registered to deliver the NHS Pharmacy First service. It aims to treat the public for common conditions from pharmacists instead of having to make a GP appointment. There is currently no way to search to see if a pharmacy near you is offering this service.
What can pharmacists now treat?
sinusitis
sore throat
earache
infected insect bite
impetigo
shingles
urinary tract infections in women (under the age of 65)
How do I get treatment?
If you have symptoms of one of the above, you can call or walk into a pharmacy and arrange a consultation with the pharmacist. NHS 111 online will also suggest the best place to get treatment.
