We have been shortlisted for the Healthwatch Impact Award! The National Healthwatch Impact Award recognises outstanding examples of people sharing their experiences to improve care for their community
Our impact meant people with additional communications needs can now access support that meets their needs after a campaign to raise awareness of the Accessible Information Standard (AIS) and efforts to educate those who need it on their rights to accessible information about their healthcare.
A collaborative effort led by Healthwatch Isle of Wight saw Healthwatch in Hampshire, Southampton, and Portsmouth come together to raise awareness of the Accessible Information Standard (AIS). We are working with our respective Trusts on local action plans to improve AIS awareness and delivery and have supported the formation of an action plan for the new System Group.
We feature at number 10 in the nominations list. We hope to score the ‘perfect 10’ in the voting to be done by our peers, the local Healthwatch teams across England.
