Thank you to everyone who took part in our pharmacy first survey

We want to give a big thank you to everyone who took part in our 'Would you go to the pharmacy first?' survey

Our plan was to engage people in situations where they were waiting to see a GP. In this situation we expected patients might be willing to respond to questions and information which could have reduced their need to make a GP appointment. Our survey target was 100 responses in order to achieve a meaningful and reasonably reliable result.  In the end we achieved 112. 

A total of 52% of you said you had heard of Pharmacy First. 48% of you told us you had not heard of Pharmacy First.

People who had used the service commented the following about the service received:

• Friendly and helpful

• Quick

• Clear and understandable

• Easy to access

A majority of people were aware pharmacies have private consultation rooms.

Most people told us their experience of the service was excellent or good.

We found that more work is needed on messaging and shifting people towards pharmacy before/instead of requesting a GP appointment.
